A DAY OUT AT ROYAL ASCOT

A couple of weeks ago I headed to Ascot with a few friends to spend the day in the sunshine & spot all the amazing hats and outfits.

I wore a design from my new 'A Day at the Races' collection called the 'Desert Orchid' - in coral and bronze with french corded lace and hand cut leather butterflies - a real statement design! My friends all wore Madeleine Millinery designs as shown in the photos below.

Hats from left to right// Celestial, Desert Orchid, Southern Belle, Zara, Lydia

Throughout the day I kept an eye out for the most eye catching hats and headpieces. I found three that I absolutely loved and had to get pictures of because they are so beautiful - gorgeous sculptural designs to this amazing soft turban

PORTMAN HUNT POINT TO POINT// BADBURY RINGS

Yesterday I spent the day exhibiting my hats and headpieces at the Portman Hunt Point to Point at Badbury Rings in Dorset. My lovely friends Carol and James Grazebrook very kindly lent me their amazing horsebox to use to exhibit my designs and it was brilliant - it was almost brand new with a side ramp and it even had a kitchenette area at the front with a sofa and cooker at the front in case the rain got really bad!

My friend Rose came to help for the day and we set up a table with a display of hats, headpieces and veils inside the horsebox and as it wasn't raining in the morning we put my hat stand, mirror and a small display table outside.

Here I am wearing the Papillon headpiece- Rose liked the way the lace created a shadow pattern on my face and I think I will be developing that idea in some of my designs for the new collection.

I had a really fun day - I met lots of interesting people who wanted to try on the hats and headpieces, found some lovely new warm boots that I love and got to watch some of the horse racing!
