A gorgeous large disc headpiece we made in peachbloom felt for a Winter wedding. The coloured feathers can be removed or replaced in our studio to match another outfit at a later date.

This piece was made to match the Mother of the Groom's amazing Moschino dress and vintage fur coat.

Today we have been working on designs for the upcoming Cheltenham Festival including some gorgeous felt pieces.

This is a beautiful felt headpiece we made for a wedding guest last year - with a cream blocked base and electric blue pleated felt trim & veiling - made to match her electric blue dress.

Come along to a luxury hat making day with Madeleine at Gaddons Manor House in the New Forest. Learn the skills to create a disc headpiece with a variety of materials. We can also match the trims & base to your outfit colour if ordered in advance.

During the day you will learn the skills & techniques to position & trim a disc headpiece. A variety of materials and trims will be supplied and lunch & a glass of fizz is included in the price.

A madeleine. client wearing a bespoke 'Northern Dancer' in red and black to her daughter's wedding in December. We matched the colour of the sinamay to her outfit by Joseph Ribkoff and added tiny red Swarvoski diamante to the end of each feather to match her necklace- perfect for a Winter wedding.

NEWS// NEW YEAR & ALTERATIONS

Today is the first day back in the studio and we've had a busy day with finishing hats for boutiques & two private appointments - a hire for a January wedding and re-trimming a vintage velvet hat.

We are regularly asked to alter and 'lift' vintage hats that need a bit of work - from re-trimming to complete alterations - and we are very happy to do this. We were recently asked to work on several vintage fur hats for two clients. The first client brought several vintage fur pieces inherited from her Mother. We re-sized two of them to fit her and used the others to replace tired & worn out pieces. Here is an image of the work in progress:

The second client brought a vintage mink fur hat to be turned into a wide fur headband. I cut out the top of the hat and curled it round, padding it out with wadding and stitching it by hand to a suede felt strip to create the tube shape. 

We have also altered Spring Summer hats for weddings including adding silk flowers, re-sashing and re-steaming damaged hats. Let us know if you have an existing hat that needs re-working or a bit of a lift!
